Unsigned Heat: JAPE – Never Let Go
Inspired by the sonic textures of the 90s and melodic rap’s new school rules, Toronto artist Jape delivers his new single “Never Let Go” with promise and balance. The single, which serves as the first track from his forthcoming EP, reflects on a thought many of us are familiar with – right person, wrong time. With toned-down, yet bouncy production from Prezident Jeff, Jape splits the song into two chapters – the first half which focuses on his harmonized vocals and the second half in which Jape throws down some bars, ultimately leaving something to be desired by everyone.
