Murda Beatz Connects With Big Sean & Babyface Ray For “Hood Politics”
On the heels of the recently-released “White Tee” with British superstar Lancey Foux, GRAMMY-nominated, Multi-Platinum producer Murda Beatz has just dropped his new single “Hood Politics” featuring Big Sean and Babyface Ray.
The track marks the Canadian producer’s first collaboration with Big Sean and his second with Detroit trendsetter Babyface Ray, following their 2021 link-up on “Touchdown” with Peezy from Babyface Ray’s album Unf*ckwitable.

On “Hood Politics”, the two Detroit rappers trade verses over anthemic production courtesy of Murda Beatz, highlighted by a spacey synth line, booming drums and anchored by Babyface Ray’s celebratory hook –– “I’m washin’ the Benz in the rain, they thinkin’ I’m crazy, goin’ insane / I turn up a bitch for day, she thinkin’ I saved but really I played her”.
Following singles like “Wake Em Up” with Rich The Kid, “Winter’s Over” (7M+ Streams) with A Boogie Wit da Hoodie and Hurricane Wisdom and “Same Shit” with Bktherula, Montell Fish and dj gummy bear, “Hood Politics” marks Murda Beatz’s sixth single release of the year, continuing his diversity behind the boards that brings out the best in his collaborators –– “Murda on the beat, so that’s what I’ma do with this one”, Big Sean raps on the new release.
Since making the jump from producer to artist-producer with his 2018 album Bless Yo Trap (a collaborative project with Smokepurpp), Murda Beatz has continued to pave the way for other producers moving into solo releases, extending the trend with “Hood Politics” by linking up with two of Detroit’s hometown heroes.
