Jastin Martin Releases New Single “Want This To Happen”
Rising trap-soul singer-songwriter and producer, Jastin Martin returns with her new single, “Want This To Happen,” out now via Def Jam Recordings.
Jastin shifts gears with “Want This To Happen,” a yearning yet hopeful reflection on the vulnerability that comes with desire. Floating over melodic guitar strings and hazy R&B production with her signature soulful tone, Jastin opens up about wanting to see and ultimately be with a potential lover as she staggers in the delicate space between desire and commitment.
“[Want This To Happen] is the start of a new era for me that I’m pretty excited for people to see.” says Jastin. “It’s sexy and honest in my wants & desires as a young woman, something that I haven’t touched on too much in my prior releases.”
Jastin resurfaced this year with her most recent single “Clear Skies” and “You or Nobody” featuring four-time GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Timbaland. She also released “28 Degrees in Houston,” which drew praises from the likes of Billboard citing it as “a relatable joint that emphasizes the ‘B’ in R&B,” while UPROXX dubbed it “a timestamp record for hometown, with a different spin.”
In 2024, she released her most recent projects “Spin The Block” as well as “Miss Me Yet? (Deluxe)” – which bolstered features from notable R&B crooners Eric Bellinger, Sammie, and Raheem Davaughn. Jastin recently joined Eric Bellinger on the Southern leg of his Around The World Tour, further cementing her growing influence across the R&B landscape.
