Usher and Chris Brown Take Over Atlanta: Five Nights at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Start Thursday

Atlanta is about to get a whole week of R&B history. Usher and Chris Brown bring The R&B Tour to Mercedes-Benz Stadium starting Thursday night (November 5) — and they are not doing one show, or two. They are doing five.

Story: Live Nation tour announcement and venue listings; dates and additions reported by SeatGeek and Baller Alert; grosses via Billboard Boxscore.

The Atlanta run goes Thursday November 5, Friday November 6, Sunday November 8, Tuesday November 10 and Wednesday November 11, all at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. That is the longest single-city stand on the entire tour, and local coverage is calling it a first: no tour has ever played five dates at that stadium in a single stop. For Usher, who was raised in Atlanta, it is a homecoming. For everybody else, it is a residency.

The tour itself has been a monster all year. Usher and Chris Brown announced The R&B Tour — also billed as the Raymond & Brown Tour — in April, with Live Nation producing. It started as a 33-date stadium run and kept growing on demand, all the way to 59 shows. Per Billboard Boxscore, the pair topped the monthly Top Tours chart with a 77.4 million dollar September, moving 423,000 tickets across just 10 shows.

The home stretch is tight. Per Baller Alert, four October stadium dates were canceled along the way, and 15 shows remain: the five in Atlanta, then Los Angeles, New Orleans, Houston and Miami before the tour closes December 12 in Tampa. Tickets for the Atlanta nights are on sale now through Ticketmaster and the venue.

Five nights, one stadium, two of the greatest live performers R&B has ever produced, trading hits for close to three hours a night. If you could only pick one night, which one are you taking — and when they go hit for hit, who really owns that stage? Let us know in the comments.
