Grafh’s “Sometimes Money Cost Too Much” Is Grown-Man Rap Done Right

Queens, stand up. South Jamaica has never had a shortage of pens, but Grafh’s pen has always carried a different weight — the weight of what it actually costs to get it. On Sometimes Money Cost Too Much, his 2026 LP on Team Bang Dope Gang, that bill comes due on every record.

This ain’t playlist rap. Across 12 tracks, Grafh keeps asking the same question the title asks: what does the money really cost? Time you can’t get back. Loyalty that gets tested. Family, freedom, peace of mind — the price tag behind every dollar.

Grafh - Sometimes Money Cost Too Much

The album opens with “Word Up Son,” Grafh setting the tone over 38 Spesh’s horns — pure Queens pressure, the sound of a borough standing outside and standing on business.

“Squeeze First” pairs him with Benny The Butcher over Mike & Keys production — two New York pens trading street-business detail with no wasted bars. Then “Outside” widens the cipher: Styles P, 38 Spesh and Mitchy Slick pull up alongside Grafh for a grown-man link-up that runs from Queens to Yonkers to Rochester to San Diego.

The run stays sharp to the end. “Brick By Brick” is a standout, and the closer, “Some Wounds Never Heal” with Tish Hyman, lands like a testimony — three verses about a kid named Little Kenny that might be the most personal writing of Grafh’s career. Tech N9ne (“Suicide”), Bun B (“Better With Time”) and Joyner Lucas (“Big League”) also slide through along the way.

And the work ethic behind the pen is real — we’ve seen it up close. Grafh pulled up to Rosedale, Queens to film the first-ever segment for On The Spot, the platform ITSBIZKIT runs with Marky (Social Media House). Same hunger in person as on the record.

The verdict: one of the most complete New York rap albums of the year — a veteran counting the cost out loud. Stream Sometimes Money Cost Too Much on all platforms now, and check the ITSBIZKIT track-by-track review post on Instagram: the full carousel is live on @itsbizkitsports.
