Luhh Dyl Shares Contemplative New Video & Single “Hanging Tree”

Approaching Detroit rap music from unconventional angles, Luhh Dyl uses the sounds of his city to experiment with flows and showcase his beyond-his-years wisdom. Baring his soul, the 21-year-old rapper shares “Hanging Tree,” his latest single and music video.

Fitting his flow between producer 4head’s manipulated vocal samples and gentle flecks of acoustic guitar, Dyl digs into his own psyche, searching for a life purpose deeper than his rap star dreams: “If you out here with no purpose, then this life sh*t worthless / You won’t fail if you don’t try, but if you try keep working,” he spits.

In the video, Luhh Dyl retreats to a remote cabin, rocking camo Supreme as he records the finishing touches from his bedroom. Dyl teased “Hanging Tree” last month with a freestyle on On The Radar.

Hanging Tree” arrives as Luhh Dyl prepares for the next phase of his career, marked by the follow-up to January’s Intrude, coming this fall. The young rapper has released a string of acclaimed singles, the Kid Cudi flip “Nite N Day” ft. Flint’s Babyfxce E and Detroit’s 1Up Tee the Pinegrove-sampling “Holdin Back,” “Wish You Could,” a contemplative anthem that earned acclaim from Clash Magazine, and “Wouldn’t Believe,” his collaboration with Lil Tony Official, which was named one of the Best Rap Songs of May 2025 by The FADER.

The upcoming album is a worthy follow-up to Intrude, the young rapper’s January 2025 project. The album featured guest appearance from Detroit heroes like Tee Grizzley, Veeze, and Sada Baby, and national names like Loe Shimmy. The young rapper has already shown a tendency to experiment with flows and use unconventional samples, and dazzled with his live performance on From The Block.

Only just tapping into his immense potential, Luhh Dyl is ready to make a name for himself. With his next album, coming this fall via 300 Ent., he positions himself as an artistic force that can’t be ignored.
