Masego Returns With Infections New Single “Recommend”
Today, GRAMMY® nominated artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Masego releases his new single and music video “Recommend” via Capitol Records. The track draws on Masego’s formative memories of house parties, where music, attraction, and community intertwined. Driven by a bouncing bassline, it leans into an upbeat, dancefloor-ready sound, capturing the confidence of walking into a room full of friends and familiar faces. An OutKast interpolation nods to the influences woven throughout the track.
Showcasing Masego on keyboard, guitar, drums, saxophone, bass, keytar, and vocals, the video highlights his multi-instrumentalism and jazz roots. Warm tones and 1970s-inspired visuals evoke the nostalgic nightlife that shapes the track’s carefree spirit.
On Juneteenth, Masego released “Breathe,” officially marking a new era for Masego, revealing a deeper vulnerability as he reflects life’s trials and tribulations through his most honest songwriting yet. To accompany the single, he released his first official music video in over two years, featuring a motionless choir that gradually breaks into movement during the climactic bridge — a poignant reflection of release, healing, and the evolving nature of grief.

Masego unveiled his expansive 40+ date Fix Your Face Tour — his first headline run in nearly three years. Spanning cities across the globe, the tour will deliver the vibrant energy, artistry, and musical versatility that have become hallmarks of Masego’s live experience. Kicking off on August 4 in Dallas, Masego will perform at renowned venues including The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, Radio City Music Hall in New York City, and The O2 in London to name a few. The tour will feature music from his forthcoming project, translating the record’s emotional depth, honesty, and intensity into a powerful live setting.
Last month, fans also got a rare chance to experience Masego’s artistry at the legendary Blue Note Jazz Club in Los Angeles, where he hosted a sold-out intimate showcase featuring a preview of new music. Full tour routing here: https://masegomusic.squarespace.com/tour.
Masego’s last full-length project, Masego, received widespread critical acclaim. Vogue profiled his artistic evolution, calling the album “his most introspective yet,” while Pitchfork highlighted it among “33 Great Records You May Have Missed,” noting his ability to refine and expand his sound. HYPEBEAST praised the project as “well worth the wait,” recognizing his continued commitment to musicianship and craft.
