Mixtape: Kid Infamous – The Infamous Life
The Durham, NC rapper Kid Infamous has released his newest project ‘The Infamous Life’. He states, “After hearing Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Good Kid, M.A.A.D City’ and J.Cole’s ‘2014 Forest Hills Drive’, I really wanted to do a concept project. Especially because I felt like it wasn’t many artist in this area making projects based around a concept. I knew I didn’t have the resources to make an album as “fleshed out” or “polished” as a Kendrick or Cole album, so I decided to make one on a smaller scale, with my own vision. That’s how ‘The Infamous Life’ was created.”
In his record “Quite Like This” he takes you along his dreams while showcasing his plans to make it into the music industry. “It’s about me, making my own lane, doing things differently than my peers,” says Kid Infamous. He raps, “Life of luxury, that’s all a nigga dream about/ On the road to riches but I had to take the scenic route/ I ain’t backing down, can’t nobody count me out/ This the life I choose”.
