Sasha Keable Shares New Single “Act Right”
Today, British / Colombian star Sasha Keable has released her new single “Act Right” out now via The Fight Club Records / Sony Music UK. On “Act Right,” Sasha is refreshingly honest and straightforward, presenting a clear and convincing take on her expectations. True to form, she brings her trademark wit and sharp lyricism to the track. By channeling her emotions to confront hurtful behavior, Sasha delivers a powerful message that resonates with her audience.
Sasha elaborates on the message behind “Act Right”:
“The process of writing this track was very much rooted in betrayal and heartbreak, it’s a reflection on what it meant to lose people that once meant so much to me and how I navigated those feelings and emotions. I had to go back to the drawing board and attempt to find myself and what made me feel again after living my life for others for what felt like an eternity. “Act Right” is a plea to the people who did me wrong to fix up and attempt to see the wrong in what they did while simultaneously attempting to find the love within myself that I so generously gave away to those people that didn’t deserve it.”
In late February, Sasha sold-out the Deaf Institute and the legendary Koko, the latter sold-out in under 48 hours with Ezra Collective coming out to perform “Body Language” which of course features Sasha. Just ahead of releasing
“Act Right”, Sasha released the remix to her viral “Why?” featuring Floridian talent P90POPE. Last year, Sasha released the original version of “Why” with a premiere performance on COLORS. Sasha’s single “Why” finds her manifesting her dream love, the new version took that dream and added a magnetic sensuality to the list of wishes.
Just before her huge single “Take Your Time” featuring 6lack, Sasha was co-signed by Beyoncé – naming Sasha as an artist who inspires her. A massive moment for the young singer-songwriter. With roots in R&B and Soul, Sasha was raised on a musical diet including, Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Mary J Blige, and her Colombian roots of Cumbia & Vallenatos played a significant role in molding her into the artist she is today.
Having broken 200k followers on IG, achieved 2m monthly listeners on Spotify, sold-out her winter UK & European tour, attended the BFAs in a custom dress by ASOS, performing with Ezra Collective at Radio 6’s music festival, walked in London Fashion Week and performed at Ezra Collective’s BRITs afterparty, Sasha has no plans to slow down. This summer Sasha’s fans will be able to enjoy the new music at a whole host of prestigious festivals including: Glastonbury, SXSW, Colors NYC as well as at Meltdown festival curated by friend Little Simz, Sasha will be performing alongside the likes of Lola Young and Yukimi!
In a business where it’s safer to remain inscrutable or blankly upbeat, Sasha Keable’s commitment to the truth is a tonic. Forthright and unapologetically emotional, like all the greatest artists, the South London star pours real life pain and joy into her performances, communicating with listeners in a manner that feels both courageous and innately empathetic. As a result, Keable displays both a talent and an artistic authenticity.
This year’s releases are the first since the sensational EP Intermission which included the huge track ‘Killing Me’ featuring Jorja Smith, which racked up a whopping 10+ million streams. Following Intermission, Sasha Keable released “Hold Up”, her first single in 3 years and was welcomed with rabid adoration and enthusiasm. It racked up millions of streams and a whole host of global co-signs including Leon Thomas, Daniel Kaluuya, Sinead Harnett, Little Simz, Yebba, Amelia Dimz, Odeal, John Legend, Wu Tang Clan, Jorja Smith, Enny, Muni Long, Mahalia and others.
With over 37 million streams worldwide, Sasha is a rising powerhouse and continues to create a fresh, captivating musical experience that will redefine her as one of the most versatile and dynamic voices in modern music.
