That Mexican OT Announces Second Leg of “Recess Tour”

Since releasing his new album Recess in August, That Mexican OT has been delivering top notch performances for fans in far-flung locales across the country. Today, the Bay City, TX native announces a second leg of his “Recess Tour,” presented by Slapwoods, adding dozens of new dates this Fall and Winter.

The upcoming second leg of the tour spans 34 dates, with several in OT’s home state of Texas, and more in major markets like L.A., New York, and Atlanta. OT is currently finishing up the first leg of the “Recess Tour,” which hits markets in the Mountain West and Midwest before concluding on October 2nd in St. Louis.

Tickets for all OT’s show dates are available at ThatMexicanOT.net.

Released in August, Recess is a worthy follow-up to OT’s acclaimed and commercially successful efforts, Lonestar Luchador (2023) and Texas Technician (2024). Channeling the mischievous and carefree spirit of a trouble-making kid on a playground, the tape is the latest showcase of the Bay City, TX rapper’s singular blend of lightning-fast flows and Texas-fried melodies.

Threaded together with skits that showcase OT’s expert world-building and sharp sense of humor, the 22-track album furthers the rapper’s exploration of the Texas sound he loves, complete with organ blasts, scratching guitars, and percussion purpose-built to make car stereos bounce. Recess is home to singles like the Lil Wayne collaboration “Baby Mad At Me,” the twangy “Runnin,” and the South Texas collab “Accessories” ft. Peso Peso.

The album rolls out the red carpet for high profile guests, including OT’s fellow Texans like BigXThaPlug and Sauce Walka, and A-List out-of-staters like Denzel Curry and Money Man. Featuring additional appearances from Lil Jairmy, NASAAN, OTB Fastlane, DRODi, and Hogg Booma, Recess is available on all platforms via Capitol/GoodTalk/Good Money Global/Manifest.

After breaking out in 2023 with his PLATINUM-selling hit “Johnny Dang” ft. Paull Wall & DRODi and the critically acclaimed album Lonestar Luchador–earning “Best of” recognition from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Complex, and PitchforkThat Mexican OT took his success to a new level in 2024. The rapper earned a spot on the 2024 XXL Freshman list, was named one of the 7 Artists Shaping the Sound of 2024 by The New York Times, appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast (his episode topped the podcast chart for multiple days), sat for an interview with Nardwuar, headlined a show at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado, and shut down his sets at the Austin City Limits Festival. Last March, OT shared Texas Technician, which featured guest spots from Slim Thug, Paul Wall, and many more from the Texas scene, as well as national figures like Moneybagg Yo. The Texas Technician single “02.02.99” peaked at #74 on the Billboard Hot 100, en route to GOLD status.

Continuing to represent for Bay City as he rises through the Texas scene, That Mexican OT is ready to go on a generational run.
