Yella Beezy Trial Bombshell: Star Witness Takes the Stand and Says “I Made It Up”
The courtroom went silent on Tuesday when the prosecution’s star witness in the Yella Beezy murder-for-hire trial took the stand — and instead of backing up the case against the Dallas rapper, told the jury the whole thing was a lie.
According to courtroom reports, the witness — who had previously told investigators that Beezy paid for the hit on Mo3 — took the stand and stunned everyone by reversing course. “I made it up,” the witness reportedly said, adding that pressure from investigators and fear of prosecution led to the false statement.
Prosecutors were visibly shaken. The witness’s original statement had been a cornerstone of the case, which alleges Beezy hired a hitman to kill fellow Dallas rapper Mo3 in 2020. Without that testimony, legal experts say the prosecution’s case could collapse — or at least face a serious uphill battle.
Beezy’s defense team immediately seized on the moment, arguing that the recantation proves the case was built on unreliable testimony from the start. “This is what we’ve been saying all along,” one defense attorney told reporters outside the courthouse. “The truth finally came out.”
The case has gripped the Dallas rap scene for years. Mo3, known for hits like “Broken Love” and “Outside,” was shot and killed on a Dallas freeway in November 2020. Beezy, whose real name is Markies Conway, has maintained his innocence since his arrest, and his supporters have long argued the charges were based on gossip and grudges, not evidence.
Outside the courthouse, fans gathered with signs reading “Free Yella Beezy” as news of the recantation spread across social media. Whether the bombshell testimony is enough to end the case remains to be seen — but for now, the momentum has shifted dramatically in Beezy’s favor.
