Yella Beezy’s Own Friend Admits on the Stand He Made Up the Mo3 Feud Story

The prosecution’s key witness just took the stand in Yella Beezy‘s Dallas trial — and told the jury he made the whole story up.

Theodore Thomas — known as Jose Bodega, and a friend of Yella Beezy’s — testified on Monday, Day 4 of the trial, that he lied to the grand jury. According to his testimony, he fabricated the story of a feud between Yella Beezy and Mo3 — a story he says set off a chain of events — and he also lied about a $40,000 payment he had claimed to receive for a hit.
This is the same witness who, earlier in the trial, pleaded the Fifth instead of answering questions. Now, back on the stand, Thomas is saying under oath that the feud story at the center of his earlier account was invented.
Then came the cross-examination — and it got uncomfortable. In the courtroom video from Law & Crime‘s trial coverage, it came out that Thomas had started giving multiple interviews about the case roughly 10 days earlier. His reason, by his own testimony: he needed to pay his rent. The attorney pressed him on the grand jury lies and closed with a line that says everything about where this witness stands now: “You’re just here to tell the truth.”
Where does that leave the case? The trial resumed today, Tuesday, and it is still the jury’s call. Testimony is testimony — Thomas’s admissions are now part of the record for both sides to argue over, but nothing he said on that stand is a verdict, one way or the other.
When the star witness admits his story was made up — but only after pleading the Fifth and doing interviews to pay his rent — who do you believe?
