Demi Blanco Indicted Over The False 911 Call That Led To Young Scooter’s Death

Seventeen months after her arrest, the case is moving. A Fulton County grand jury has indicted Demetria Spence — the former Baddies reality star known as Demi Blanco — on a felony charge of transmitting a false public alarm, the false 911 call that set in motion the death of Atlanta rapper Young Scooter. The indictment was handed down September 28, 2026, according to the court document.
To be clear about what this is and is not: Spence is NOT charged with murder. The charge is the false alarm itself — a felony under Georgia law because of what the call led to. If she is convicted, she faces serious prison time.
On March 28, 2025 — his 39th birthday — Young Scooter, born Kenneth Edward Bailey, was at a home on William Nye Drive in Atlanta when police rolled up responding to a 911 call reporting a naked woman being beaten bloody and dragged back inside a house, with shots fired and a child possibly in danger. Officers found no evidence of any of it. Scooter and another man ran out the back. Scooter jumped fences trying to get away and tore open his right thigh on the wooden fencing — a penetrating injury that severed blood flow. He was pronounced dead at the hospital at 6:41 PM. The Fulton County Medical Examiner ruled the death an accident and confirmed there was no gunshot wound.
Days later, Spence went on Instagram Live and admitted she made the call, claiming she placed it to protect herself. Atlanta police arrested her on April 1, 2025, and she has been facing the false-alarm charge ever since. The grand jury’s indictment now moves the case toward trial.
The news is traveling fast — one post about the indictment has already passed 185,000 views, with fans repeating what a lot of Atlanta has said since that night: Scooter did not deserve to go out like that. Rest in peace to Young Scooter. Justice, whatever the court decides it looks like, is finally in motion.
