Carmelo Anthony & La La Anthony Reach Divorce Settlement 9 Years After Their Split

It’s officially a wrap. Carmelo Anthony and La La Anthony have reached a settlement in their divorce, closing the book on one of the most talked-about marriages in sports and entertainment.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the former couple informed the New York County Supreme Court this week that they have a deal. The settlement agreement is confidential, so there is no public word on how money or property was divided, and a judge still has to give it a final sign-off.
One thing that is no longer part of the fight: child support. Their son Kiyan is 19 now, a legal adult in college and building his own basketball career, so custody and support were not factors in the settlement. Court docs do still list a qualified medical child support order as pending, which covers Kiyan’s health insurance enrollment.
The road here was long. Carmelo and La La got together in 2003, after he asked their mutual friend DJ Clue to introduce them, and they married in 2010. They separated in April 2017, got back together in late 2018, then split again for good. In June 2021, after 11 years of marriage, La La filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences.
A source close to the situation told The Shade Room the divorce has been finalized, that both parties have moved on, and that they “are confused as to why this is coming out today.”
Nine years after the split that started it all, the paperwork finally matches the reality: both have been living separate lives and co-parenting Kiyan for years. Now it’s official.
