Icewear Vezzo Buys The Entire Shadow Gallery Building In Detroit With Partner Prevail
Icewear Vezzo is not just booking the room anymore — he owns the building.

The Detroit rapper and his business partner Prevail now own the entire building that houses The Shadow Gallery, the entertainment complex at 1533 Winder Street in Eastern Market, according to AllHipHop. The announcement covers the full property, not a stake in the venue’s operations, and no purchase price or financing terms were disclosed.
Vezzo delivered the news himself, standing outside the white-brick building alongside Prevail and announcing to the city that he was officially an owner. In his own posts about the move, he described the co-investment as a birthday gift, thanked his brother Chris for turning down other buyers to give him the opportunity, and said the venue will be rebranded as the Ice Gallery.
The property gives the partners several businesses under one roof. The Shadow Gallery bills itself as an entertainment complex with a lounge, a rooftop patio, an art gallery and a live music venue. The first floor is home to AWAREHOUSE, a concert and event space, along with a lobby used for rotating pop-up concepts, while the upstairs gallery rotates contemporary art from local and international artists. AllHipHop reports the announcement came with no redevelopment timeline and no word on whether the venue’s current programming will change.
The outgoing team’s run is closing out in real time: the Shadow Gallery’s final weekend of events runs through tonight, closing a five-year chapter for the space before the new ownership takes it forward.
For Vezzo, the purchase is the latest in a deliberate run of Detroit ownership plays. In December 2025, he and fellow rapper Peezy became the first franchise partners in House of Dank’s history at a store on Gratiot Avenue — a deal he framed in plain terms at the time: “This isn’t a promotion — this is real ownership.” Back in September, he walked cameras through several east-side homes he had purchased for young people aging out of foster care and people recovering from addiction. “Our job is to show them what love is and what a home is,” he said during that neighborhood tour.
Now that same strategy lands in Eastern Market, one of the city’s best-known commercial districts, with a multi-use building that can generate from art, nightlife, live shows and private events at the same time. From the East Side blocks he grew up on to a whole building in Eastern Market, Vezzo keeps making the same point: the money comes back home, and it buys in.
