Gervonta “Tank” Davis Settles Civil Lawsuit, But His Criminal Case Is Still On
Gervonta “Tank” Davis has closed one chapter of his legal fight. According to AllHipHop, Davis settled the civil lawsuit filed by his former girlfriend Courtney Rossel, who voluntarily dismissed all of her claims with prejudice in Miami-Dade County on November 5. Her attorney, Richard Wolfe, confirmed the settlement and told USA Today the terms are confidential. No dollar figure or other terms were included in the court filing, and a dismissal with prejudice means Rossel cannot refile the same claims.

Rossel sued Davis on October 30, 2025, days after she alleged he attacked her on October 27, 2025, while she was working as a VIP cocktail waitress at Tootsie’s Cabaret in Miami Gardens. Her complaint accused Davis of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress, and she was seeking compensatory and punitive damages. The settlement ends the civil case without a trial, and Davis was not found liable by any court.
Here is the part that matters most: a settled civil case is not a cleared criminal case. According to AllHipHop, the criminal prosecution tied to the same alleged incident remains active, and Davis still faces battery and attempted kidnapping charges in Florida. The Baltimore Banner likewise reports he remains charged with attempted kidnapping and battery. Davis previously pleaded not guilty in the criminal case, and his next status hearing is scheduled for November 17.
The criminal side has been building for months. According to AllHipHop, Miami Gardens police obtained a warrant in January, Davis was arrested later that month and released on bond with an order to stay away from Rossel, and prosecutors dropped a false-imprisonment charge in March after determining it overlapped with the kidnapping count.
The legal trouble has stalled his career, too. A planned exhibition against Jake Paul was canceled after the allegations surfaced, Davis has not fought since his March 2025 majority draw with Lamont Roach Jr., and the WBA stripped him of its lightweight title in June. The civil book is closed — now all eyes are on November 17 and the criminal case.
