Lil Baby Turns Hawks Halftime Into A FRESH Celebration At State Farm Arena
Lil Baby did not need long to make State Farm Arena his. One night after dropping FRESH, his fifth studio album, Atlanta’s own took center court at halftime of the Hawks’ game against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday night (Nov 7) and turned the break into an album celebration — red cap, sunglasses and a red-and-blue jacket, mic in hand on the Hawks logo, backed by dancers in black, a DJ, pyrotechnics and a red wash of light and smoke, while the jumbotron billed it plainly: “LIL BABY HALFTIME PERFORMANCE PRESENTED BY JACK DANIEL’S.”
The show landed on Divine 9 Night, with the Nets up 70–66 at the half. The game nearly stole the night back: Brooklyn led by as many as 17 before Atlanta stormed home in the fourth quarter to win 124–121, behind 30 points from Jalen Johnson in his return from an ankle injury.

The timing is the story. FRESH arrived Friday via Quality Control and Motown — 17 tracks, including “All My Partnas” with Future, Young Thug and Rylo Rodriguez, and “Dead Fresh,” produced by Pharrell. ITSBIZKIT reviewed the album this week and previewed the halftime set before tip-off. A hometown halftime headline 24 hours after release, in the city that raised him — that is how you open an album era in Atlanta.
He will be back in the same building soon: “Lil Baby: Fresh Prince of Atlanta” is set for December 5 at State Farm Arena.
