Druski Makes History As The First Internet Creator To Ever Host ‘Saturday Night Live’
Live from New York — it’s the creator economy. Druski hosted Saturday Night Live last night (Nov. 7), becoming the first digital content creator to ever host the show in its 52-season history.

The 32-year-old comedian — real name Drew Desbordes — took over Studio 8H for Season 52’s fifth episode, with The Strokes as musical guest. His monologue came with a surprise: after Druski mentioned he just finished filming a movie with Emma Stone, the Oscar winner walked out on stage to join him. Episode recaps also flagged his Elizabeth Holmes parody alongside Jane Wickline as one of the night’s standout sketches.
Understand what this booking actually is. SNL hosts used to come from movies, TV and stand-up clubs. Druski built his audience on Instagram Live and sketch videos — Coulda Been Records, the characters, the memes — starting back in 2017, hosted the BET Awards this year, and now has a Netflix comedy series, Collect and Praise, premiering December 1. The show didn’t discover him; it caught up to him.
Fifty-two seasons in, the door at 30 Rock just opened to the internet — and Druski walked through it first.
