Hercy Miller Will Play His Father Master P in Snoop Dogg’s “Snoop” Biopic
The No Limit chapter of Snoop Dogg’s story is staying in the family.

Hercy Miller, the 24-year-old son of Master P, has been cast to play his own father in Snoop, the upcoming Snoop Dogg biopic from Universal Pictures. According to XXL, Deadline confirmed the casting on Thursday (Nov. 5), adding one of the most talked-about roles in the film: the man who signed Snoop to No Limit Records and relaunched his career.
Master P broke his silence on Instagram, celebrating the news and making it clear his son went out and got the role. “I’m proud of my son @hercymiler put the work and got the part to play me in Snoop movie @snoopdogg Salute,” he wrote.
Snoop jumped in the comments himself to shut down any nepotism talk before it could start: “He earned it the old fashion way.”
The role marks Hercy’s feature-film debut. He has been in front of the camera before, appearing in Netflix’s Calabasas Confidential, but this is a different level: playing one of the most important executives in rap history, in the era when that executive changed Snoop’s life. The part is expected to center on 1998, when Snoop left Death Row Records and signed with Master P’s No Limit, a move that gave his career a second life.
The cast around him keeps getting bigger. The same round of casting added Zachariah Rogers as The D.O.C. and comedian Watts Homie Quan as an original character named B. Mack. One day earlier, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed Cynthia Erivo will play Afeni Shakur, Tupac’s mother. Jonathan Daviss leads the film as Snoop, with Camron Jones as Tupac, Lauren London as Snoop’s late mother, Algee Smith as Warren G, Myles Bullock as Dr. Dre, SwayvoTwain as The Notorious B.I.G. and G Perico as Snoop’s early mentor Big Reecie Cup.
Snoop is produced by Brian Grazer and directed by Craig Brewer for Universal Pictures, and it is the first film under Death Row Pictures’ overall deal with NBCUniversal Entertainment. Cameras are already rolling, and the film arrives in theaters on Aug. 6, 2027.
Father-and-son casting like this does not happen often, and it comes with real pressure. Hercy is not just playing a rap legend. He is playing his father, in front of his father, with Snoop watching. August 2027 cannot come soon enough.
