Offset Says He’s Hesitant About Casinos, But He’s Not Quitting Gambling
Offset is not folding. According to AllHipHop, reporting on TMZ’s footage, the Atlanta rapper got stopped at Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday, November 5, and the conversation started with “Every Night,” his casino-set collaboration with Don Toliver. When the talk turned to his own run of casino headlines, Offset admitted the year he’s had makes him hesitant about stepping back into a casino. Quitting gambling altogether? That’s not in the plan. He called his life a movie, and said the video is a case of art imitating life.

Run back the year he’s had, and the hesitation makes sense. On April 6, Offset was shot in the valet area outside the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida. Police described his injuries as non-life-threatening, and his spokesperson said the following day that he was in stable condition.
On October 5, video made the rounds showing him in an argument at a blackjack table in Paris.
Then there’s Detroit. MotorCity Casino Hotel sued Offset on March 30 over an alleged $100,000 gambling marker tied to a March 2024 visit. The casino alleges he failed to repay the marker and that the bank account backing it didn’t have the funds to cover it. The complaint alleged fraud, breach of contract and violations of Michigan’s bad-check law, and sought twice the alleged debt plus legal fees. On September 11, a Wayne County Circuit judge directed the casino to apply for a default after Offset failed to respond to the suit. TMZ reports he is working to resolve the debt.
None of it slowed the rollout. “Every Night,” produced by Jaasu and built on a sample of Jodeci’s 1995 classic “Freek’n You,” arrived as part of the run-up to his new album, GMFU. Offset has most recently pointed to November 13 for the album’s release, after his label announced an earlier October 23 date. The video, directed by Mikey Rare and SheShe Pendleton, puts him right back at the tables — on screen, at least.
So the position is clear: the casinos might see less of him, but the gambling isn’t going anywhere. GMFU lands November 13.
