Chucky Creator Don Mancini Claps Back At Nicki Minaj Over Her “Vote Red” Chucky Post

Nicki Minaj’s Election Day Chucky post got a response from the one person who can actually speak for Chucky — and he wasn’t playing. Don Mancini, the creator of the Child’s Play franchise, fired back at Nicki on X after she posted an AI-generated image of the killer doll dressed up as a Republican.

On Election Day (Tuesday, November 3), Nicki posted “HAPPY ELECTION DAY!!!” over an AI image of Chucky in a pink suit, holding a phone, wearing a “Vote Red” pin — her latest show of support for Donald Trump and the Republican ticket.

Mancini answered the next day, directly under her post: “IMPOSTER. CHUCKY IS PART OF THE BLUE WAVE THAT WILL WASH AWAY ALL THE CORRUPTION.”

He didn’t stop there. In his own post, Mancini broke down where his creation actually stands: “Chucky has a trans kid. Chucky protects the dolls. Chucky is anti-ICE. Chucky says ‘A BLUE WAVE is coming, as BLUE as my f**kin’ eyes!'” The post came with a photo of his own Chucky doll wearing an “I Voted” sticker — and after the results rolled in, he reposted the doll with blue hair and a final shot: “Too bad, Nicki! No AI, by the way! #bluewave”

For the record, there was no legal threat here — some posts going around frame it like Mancini “warned” her off the character. What actually happened is simpler and funnier: the man who created Chucky in 1988’s Child’s Play, wrote or co-wrote nearly every film since, and created the Chucky TV series, publicly told Nicki his doll doesn’t ride with her politics. Nicki hasn’t responded to Mancini.

It’s been that kind of week for her — the Mancini clapback landed the same week her former law firm went back to court asking for $295,605 in unpaid legal fees, and her Trump posts are still setting the timeline off.
